Given Corowa’s decision to race on Monday afternoon, Albury and Wangaratta will now share the Border and North East’s centre stage.
“It’s our biggest attended race meeting for the year, so we’re looking forward to a great day,” Wangaratta Turf Club CEO Paul Hoysted said.
Wangaratta has a six-race program on Tuesday, with the first from 1pm.
“There’s full fields, plenty of local trainers filling up the races, which is really good to see,” Hoysted said.
“They’ve been in really good form over the last 12 months.”
And apart from the racing, there’s a host of festivities, including Fashions on the Field and childrens’ activities.
Albury will also host its Fashions’ show, while the five-event program starts at 1.40pm.
“Hospitality-wise bookings are looking pretty good, so we’re hoping general admission matches that,” CEO Mick Wighton said.
