Gatcum enjoyed a three-year tenure at the helm in Cobram, which included the succussful merger of Cobram Tigers and Cobram Victory, as well as the club’s successful bid to join the AWFA.
The Roar won the league championship in their first year in the Border competition, and has made the Cup finals in both years.

They also won a premiership in the Goulburn North East league in 2015.
Gatcum said after three years of coaching, he couldn't look past the opportunity to improve his own game at NPL level.
“I've thoroughly enjoyed my three years coaching at the Roar, but I'm at the stage now where, at 27 years old, I wanted to focus on my own play,” he said.
“You're a long time retired in soccer, so I just wanted to enjoy playing for a few more years.
“I'm really happy with what we've achieved, and a lot of that comes down to the people in and around the club.
“We've built a great culture in a short amount of time.”
Gatcum said he was likely to return to the Roar at some point in the future.
