Wet grass courts forced Tuesday ladies action onto the synthetic option for this week’s round of matches.

The section three clash between Webb and Lee was the standout encounter with the former home in a thriller by just one game.

A dominant fifth rubber by Norelle Webb and Jo Taylor proved pivotal.

Huckstepp recovered from a slow start against Cannon, grabbing some momentum mid-morning to record a hard fought 4-2 win.

In section one, Spencer dropped the opening two stanzas against Wurtz before gaining the upper hand in an entertaining contest.

Marianne Spencer, Melissa Rhodes, Dee Gordon and Danni Coleman lifted after a slow start to complete a 4-2 salute.

An unbeaten Sue Dickens steered Martin to victory over Rouvray in a tight contest, while Bulle was too good for an under strength Landy.

Ros Barber led her team to a 4-2 triumph over Jacob in section two, while Jenny Clark was the standout in Molesworth’s narrow win over Langford.
