Award recognises work on Indigo Valley bushfire in December 2015

MEMBERS of the Indigo Valley Bushfire Community Recovery Committee have been recognised with an award. 

The group, and Indigo Shire’s community recovery coordinator Karen Van Huizen, were successful at the Victorian Fire Awareness Awards. 

Mayor Jenny O’Connor said the bushfires on December 20, 2015, had impacted the Barnawartha and Indigo Valley communities. 

Three homes, 30 sheds and farming structures, nine water tanks and 46 vehicles were damaged.
