The two-storey pub built in 1891 with 11 pokies and 20 rooms, was passed in on a vendor bid for $1.4 million by agents, CRE Brokers.
Auctioneer Kevin Connolly confirmed the interstate interest in the only hotel in Culcairn.
The auction attracted a small crowd including present owner Jan Callaghan, whose family purchased the pub a decade ago.
Also in 2007, Senator Pauline Hanson dined on barramundi and chips at an impromptu lunch stop over in Culcairn with former partner Chris Callaghan.
The pub’s freehold and business are being offered for sale with it presently leased and operated under management.
CRE Brokers are also the agents appointed to sell Burke Hotel in Yarrawonga which is on the market for $3.3 million after also not selling at auction late last month.
