A second attempt to build a compost facility in the region by Cleanaway has been vigorously opposed by the town.
HCC chairman Stuart Sizer confirmed this morning the company’s plans which had been approved by the Joint Regional Planning Panel earlier this year would be ripped up.

The HCC has been involved in high level legal talks with Cleanaway and Federation Council in the last 10 days.
Comment is also being sought from Federation Council and Cleanaway.
