The Border side went down by 75 runs against an in-form Wangaratta Blue at Beechworth on Thursday.
Wangaratta posted 113, one of their lowest totals of the week, but ripped through CAW’s lineup to bowl them out for just 38.
CAW coach Luke Brookes admitted Wangaratta was clearly the best side during the week and deserved their spot in the final.
“It was a great effort for them to make it (to the semis), it’s a long week for the kids,” Brookes said.
“We didn’t start the week too well, we had to go to Wagga the first day and got beaten and lost the second day, but the third day they fired up and rolled a side for 90 and won with 17 overs left to make the semis.
“A lot of them don’t know each other, so to come together and make the finals is a good effort.”
Jack Fenz-Mace, Kaiden Withers and Ashton Brookes were CAW’s standout players.
