The burglar was in no hurry inside the Thomas Mitchell Drive property, which is stocked with fishing gear and accessories.
Detective Senior Constable Ian Deverell said the offender spent about 20 minutes inside the house in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
“He’s quite upset,” he said of the victim.
“I’d suggest that the member of the public has been there before and knew what to look for.”
Security footage shows the man, who had a hoodie, backpack and gloves on, looking at different items before stealing them.
“It’s quite disheartening that a person would target an elderly pensioner,” Detective Senior Constable Deverell said.
“He’s 84 years of age and he lives alone.
“It’s quite concerning.”
