The new owner of Get Tossed Salad Bar for the past six weeks, Ms Cornish said the timing was right for a career change. Having worked in the corporate sector in vocational education and training, Ms Cornish said she was relishing the change of pace.
“What I love about this business is that we provide healthy, quick lunches that are not traditional and high-carb,” she said. “You can grab it on the run; I like the concept of being able to feed people a decent lunch while they're at work.”
Ms Cornish said the business had just added Hellenic Republic Cypriot Grain Salad – voted Australia's favourite recipe by The Good Food Guide 2017 – to their offerings.
“It's made on the spot, with fresh ingredients and it is truly a fabulous salad,” she said.
Ms Cornish said their fresh, local version of Cypriot Grain Salad suited vegetarians and gluten-free diets.
Since The Age Good Food Guide published the recipe for Cypriot Grain Salad, created by Travis McAuley of Melbourne's Hellenic Republic, in 2013 it has received one million clicks online.
