Willett found the boundary 14 times in his unbeaten 103 to steer the Colts to a 30-run victory and keep them in the running for a home final.
Batting first, Colts posted 7-186 from 40 overs, but were 3-10 when Willett and captain Kent Braden came together at the crease.
Braden added 25, while Fraser Ellis made 17, but Willett was the standout, scoring the bulk of Colts’ 90 runs from the last 10 overs.
“He’s threatened plenty of times to post a decent score and I think he’s got a couple of half-centuries in A-grade,” Braden said.
“For him to get his first hundred was fantastic and it was obviously the main reason we ended up winning.
“I’d obviously take the grand final over winning yesterday (Saturday), but it gives us confidence we’re still on the right path and we can play good cricket against the good sides.”
Beechworth were travelling well in the run chase as brothers Kayde and Brenton Surrey looked destined to take the game away from Colts, before a mix-up resulted in Brenton being run out.
The Wanderers then lost regular wickets and were restricted to 9-156.
Rovers United-Bruck (101) defeated Wangaratta (43) by 58 runs in a game dominated by the bowlers, Yarrawonga-Mulwala (4-180) thrashed Delatite (71), while Benalla Bushrangers (134) were too strong for Ovens Valley United (89).
Greta had the bye.
