Albury Wodonga Health board chairwoman Nicki Melville is the guest speaker at the Association of Independent Retirees Albury-Wodonga regional branch’s monthly meeting.
Ms Melville said she planned to talk about the 25-year journey to integrate the Border health services, the benefits this brought and what’s happened since.
“Since we opened the (Albury Wodonga Regional) Cancer Centre, for those very specialised services, we reckon we’re serving about 250,000 people across south west NSW and North East Victoria,” she said.
The talk would highlight the cardiac catheter lab under construction and “our need for a real review and extension of emergency services”.
Visitors are welcome to the presentation at The Albury Club, Kiewa Street, door entry $4. The meeting begins at 10am with Ms Melville due to talk about 11am.
