With only two members of last season’s line-up set to play in the top grade at Birallee Park, coach Jodie House said the Albury Netball Association’s pre-season competition would be vital to their preparation.
The series kicked off on Thursday night at J.C. King Park with 24 teams from the Ovens and Murray, Hume and Tallangatta and District leagues taking part.
“We’re looking at fielding the youngest team the Raiders have ever had,” House said.
“Our oldest player (Shaylah House) is 19.
“The pre-season competition is a great opportunity for the girls to get out on the court to see what they can do.
“You can mix and match as you go.”
Wodonga Raiders’ A grade line-up looks set to include youngsters Shaylah and Mackensey House, Alyce Parker, Vashti Muller, Lilly Grigg and Eloise Shanahan.
The pre-season competition runs throughout March.
