The 42-year old injured his calf in the penultimate regular season clash against East Albury a month ago.
“It’s a different injury to that one, it’s still on the calf, but a different part of the calf,” captain Jack Craig said.
Since debuting a decade ago, Jackson has racked up just under 5½ thousand runs at 52.56.
He’s played six grand finals, with 322 runs at 64.4.
But such is Wodonga’s depth, it still boasts a superb strike rate without him.
“He’s probably missed 12 games in the last four seasons and we’d won every one until that game against North Albury a few weeks ago,” Craig said.
Wodonga suffered one of its lowest scores – 104 – in a decade-long domination, but quickly regained form with 9-267 against East Albury in the semi-final, with seven of the top eight all passing 20.
To highlight the club’s depth, Jackson will be replaced by another former CAW captain in James Tonkin, whose wife had a baby just before the semi.
Wodonga will start favourite, but North has racked up four straight two-day wins.
“That’s a credit to them, they’ve bounced back from, I wouldn’t say a dire situation, a very hard situation,” Craig said.
North’s opening pair Ash Borella and Ben Paddle set up the semi win over Tallangatta with a lightning 59-run partnership from only 10 overs, with Borella making 54 from just 36 balls, with seven boundaries and two sixes.
