Wangaratta asked the O and M to examine an alleged incident between Rouse and Joe Richards at the 11-minute mark of the second quarter.
Richards’ older brother – Nick – was charged with striking Rouse and found guilty at last week’s tribunal, receiving a two-match ban.
Nick Richards was the only player reported in the match and there’s no video evidence of the alleged Rouse-Joe Richards incident.
“An investigation officer’s been appointed and we’ll go through the process whether there’s a case to be heard by the tribunal or not,” O and M general manager Sean Barrett said.
The officer has 10 days to respond after the investigation’s been launched, but can ask for a 10-day extension.
One of the league’s most improved players, Rouse is eligible to play until that’s completed.
