After bowing out of the Twenty20 competition at Wagga last weekend, chairman Michael Erdeljac said the association didn’t want to finish its representative commitments on a sour note.
“It’s another opportunity,” Erdeljac said.
“We wanted to play more representative cricket this summer, particularly on a local basis.
“I know Daryl Tuffey and the boys are looking forward to it.
“We haven’t played O’Farrell Cup for a long time so there is plenty of incentive to do well.”
CAW will play either Holbrook and District, Wagga or Griffith on December 2 with Erdeljac saying the association would be close to full strength.
“I haven’t heard of anyone being unavailable,” he said.
The Border association is the third to return to the O’Farrell Cup in recent years after Yass and Young made a comeback.
Holbrook and District held the O’Farrell Cup over the winter with skipper Darren Howard set to name a similar line-up to the one which stunned Wagga in the final challenge last season.
They will defend the cup without Brocklesby and District players.
