FAST FACTS
- Pine Mountain is the largest monolith in the southern hemisphere and is said to be 1.5 times the size of Uluru.
- For any happenings, community updates and news, the town can tune its dial to RUM Radio or read the Walwa World online.
- Walwa Homestead was home to Sydney "Grandie" Grandison Watson who owned 40 miles of property along the Murray River totalling about 100,000 acres.
- The local football club, the Border-Walwa Magpies, was founded in 1962 and plays in the Upper Murray Football League. The town's original club, Walwa FC, was founded in 1898 and won 15 premierships.
