The group of 25 cycled a section of the 2006 Vic Roads Great Victorian Bike Ride, to promote the event and encourage others to dust off their rusty set of wheels and hit the bitumen.
Bicycle Victoria ride director Vincent Ciardulli said the roads, scenery and community gave the North East the complete package.
“The variety of scenery is just incredible,” Mr Ciardulli.
Up to 5000 cyclists are expected in the November 25 to December 3 ride.
It starts at the jazz festival at Wangaratta, and heads via Beechworth, Tallangatta, Mt Beauty, and Myrtleford before a descent to Yarra Glen.
