Funny thing that.
How much did this woman pay towards the many thousands of dollars owed to irrigators for water never received, not to mention the money paid for the land over many back-breaking years.
It is not only the seepage and the evaporation that will be going down the pipeline but the much-needed water from the food bowl used to flush Melbourne toilets.
Recycled and water from tanks at each household would be a better answer.
I’m sure the writer would not mind somebody building in her backyard and tapping into her water supply at her expense; after all the land and water belong to all of us.
If water in Melbourne is in such short supply that it has to be stolen from the country, why is the State Government accepting more and more people coming to live there?
