Although the Swampies threatened to challenge on several occasions, Jeremy Bunn’s charges grabbed wickets at crucial stages and comfortably defended 8-276.
Henty opener Mark White topscored in the chase with 68, while Shannon Terlich and John Wakefield made 28 each.
They ensured the visitors reached a respectable 195.
Cameron Diffey and Ben Klemke also made starts with 16.
Osborne’s Andrew Michel hit out late to see the Cats home against Holbrook,
Michel made a quickfire 39 batting well down the order and proved the difference in a tight opening round showdown.
“We bowled tight, but not all day long,” Brooker captain Seamus McKillop said.
“When Osborne’s batsmen took it up to us we probably dropped a bit short and, with such a young team, I think we will learn from it.
“There wasn’t much between the teams over the two days.
“Michel hit 39 off about seven or eight overs and that was crucial.”
Culcairn had the bye.
