That’s all it took St Patrick’s openers Trent Ball and Drew Cameron to chase down Albury’s paltry score of 73 in their Cricket Albury-Wodonga one-day clash at Billson Oval yesterday.
Albury looked a shadow of the side that had beaten Wodonga and East Albury in successive weeks with skipper Craig Mannagh admitting the result “was a reality check”.
“It was a bad day at the office,” Mannagh said.
“We were completely outplayed; it was a case of chocolates to boiled lollies for us.
“We want to build up some respect in this competition and today hasn’t helped.”
After being sent in, Albury fell into immediate trouble with Joel Morris (16 not out) and Kal Griffiths (10) the only batsmen to reach double figures in its worst batting performance of the season.
St Patrick’s had no such problems with the bat as Ball (37 not out) and Cameron (21 not out) peppered the boundaries in responding with 0-75.
Mannagh said Albury was eager to bounce back against Wodonga this weekend.
“It’s a big test for us,” he said.
