5:30PM: TWENTY fire trucks are battling a grass fire at Ebden Reserve, near Bonegilla.

Firefighters are racing up a nearby hill in a bid to beat the fire to its peak.

Two helicopters are expected to arrive about 6pm; one to observe and one to attack.

A large amount of grassland has already been burnt.

The CFA has issued a warning to Ebden, Huon, Kiewa and Baranduda residents to monitor conditions and check their bushfire survival plan.
