After biting the bullet and making the decision to build my exercise regimen, I rediscovered the beauty of an early-morning walk through the city’s Botanic Gardens and along Wodonga Place to Hume Street where you join the riverside loop through Hovell Tree and Noreuil Parks.
The sheer peace of watching the water slide by will put a smile on your face. It’s a view you will never tire of and it’s guaranteed to put you in a good mood for the day.
Round the River Deck cafe and the Mitta Canoe Club and you can continue on over the little bridge to the Union Bridge, or you can head back towards the city past the roadway entrance to the children’s park at Oddie’s Creek.
If your exercise regimen isn’t too serious, you can head back along Wodonga Place to the Dean Street corner and catch a coffee at the van at the Caltex service station.
Coffee after a brisk morning walk or jog? Now that’s truly the definition of happiness.
