You can see Holland live on stage tonight with The Silver Spurs at Albury’s Albion Hotel, supported by ex-Border country/acoustic/pop vocalist Gretta Ziller.
Iddy Biddy Pride opens this album with a punch in the chops — Janis Joplin-style — with Holland’s powerful vocals and brilliant guitar and mandolin intro.
By contrast, the gentle In Front of Me showcases Holland’s mandolin-playing skills and more sensitive side.
Proficient on this instrument plus harmonica and acoustic guitar, Holland is backed by an impressive posse of musos: drummer Sair Allport, lead guitarist Nick Wall and bass guitarist Nick Holland.
RATING: ★★★½
IN SHORT: Big sound
