Liam Ashley Cotter, 20, has been charged with break and enter with intent, entering inclosed lands and malicious damage.
Mr Cotter has denied any involvement in the offences but he was caught on closed circuit footage with three others trying to force a rear door at the supermarket.
Court assistant registrar Yvette Robertson was told in tendered police facts that an intruder alarm was activated at the IGA supermarket about 12.45am on March 21.
Police were on their way to the scene when they stopped Mr Cotter at the intersection of Elizabeth Mitchell Drive and Thurgoona Drive.
There were bolt cutters and other items in the vehicle.
Police were aware that Mr Cotter was linked to a break-in at commercial premises where similar items were stolen so they were confiscated.
Mr Cotter was stopped for another offence at 5pm on Friday and checks showed he was wanted for the attempted break-in.
