The Subaru was stolen from a Carrington Street house after a window was broken there about 1.30am.
The male burglar then entered the home and picked up keys from a bench before being confronted by a woman resident.
Insp David Cottee, of Albury police, said the woman challenged the teenager but he fled with the Victorian-registered grey Subaru sedan.
The car, which has number plates ZIC 944, is still to be found.
One of the suspects is described as having dark curly hair, while there is no description of an accomplice.
Both are believed to be about 18 years old.
