No doubt there were many caught out in shorts and sandals yesterday, as the heavens opened — and stayed that way for much of the day.
As of 8.30pm last night, Albury had received 27 millimetres of rain since 9am, taking the yearly tally to above 500 millimetres, Wangaratta 30 millimetres and Osborne’s Flat 23.
Wodonga SES received just one call-out to a Marshall Street, Wodonga house about 5.30pm where a roof was leaking.
Things are even turning a little frosty in the mountains, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting snow at Hotham, Falls Creek and Buller.
Albury-Wodonga is expected to stay cool for the rest of the week with temperatures in the low 20s before clearing up again on Saturday.
