After Sirl won the toss and elected to field, the visitors made 251 runs before being bowled out in the 70th over.
Sirl said the task wasn’t beyond his team.
“The wicket was pretty good after the first hour and I think the outfield will be 50 runs quicker next week with all of the hot weather that is ahead of us,” he said.
“It’s going to be really fast.
“If we bat out our overs, we will be a good chance of making the target.”
Dederang’s Thomas Barel top scored with 56 batting down the order, with support coming from Andrew Creamer (41), Daniel Perri (48) and Cameron Gregg (34).
Left-arm spinner Cameron Sirl was the star with the ball, grabbing 6-64 off 19.2 overs.
“Dad bowled well,” Sirl said.
“He did well to pick up six wickets and Tom Packer was good, getting out Andrew Creamer as well.”
Bethanga is sitting in second spot on the ladder and needs to keep winning with Yackandandah and Mount Beauty in hot pursuit at the halfway stage of the season.
Eskdale made 188 against Mount Beauty at Eskdale.
The home team was led brilliantly by under-16 eligible youngster Ben Paton, who made 58.
Clinton Gilson (36) and Hayden Wilson (30no) also played handy knocks.
Kiewa’s Josh Bartel made a century in his team’s score of 9-294 against Baranduda.
Bartel finished on 101 and received support from veteran Robbie Barber, who batted well for 58 against good bowling from Brett Brown (4-58).
Howlong is in control against Wodonga at Howlong.
Recruit Josh Warren-Marmo was aggressive with his 59 including seven boundaries and two sixes, while Nick Shelley’s 39 helped the Spiders make 263.
Wodonga will resume at 2-16.
Yackandandah is well on the road to victory against Barnawartha-Chiltern, reaching 2/53 in response to the Miners’ 139 at Barnawartha.
