Mr Hodge, a grand-father, lost a battle with cancer in December 2012 and died at home.
A farmer, he was deputy captain of Table Top rural fire brigade for 30 years.
Noel White, who nominated Mr Hodge several years ago, said he was well known in all areas of the community.
“He was dedicated to what he did, he enjoyed doing it,” Mr White said.
Mr Hodge was also a charter member of the Rotary Club of Albury Hume, serving the club as president and treasurer and was a Paul Harris fellow.
He was a foundation member of the Albury Wodonga Yacht Club, a steward with the Albury Show committee, and was justice of the peace for NSW for 40 years.
Mr Hodge continued his community work, helped by his wife, Phyllis, despite losing a leg in a car accident and damaging his other leg while working on fencing.
