But yesterday the mother of three young children handed herself in at the Albury police station, was arrested and remanded in custody.
When she appeared in Albury Local Court for a bail application, police did not oppose her release.
Magistrate Tony Murray ordered a pre-sentence report on charges of middle range drink-driving and disqualified driving with her sentencing adjourned until April 15.
Mr Murray made it a condition that Oats, who has children aged four months, three and four years, cannot be in any vehicle unless there is a licensed driver with her.
The warrants for her were issued at court on March 25 last year.
Police saw her driving about 11.20pm on October 19, 2012, at the intersection of Urana Road and Sanders Street in Lavington.
Her Ford station wagon did not have any headlights working and police followed her into Sanders Street.
She swerved to the opposite side of the road for a brief period.
When an officer approached her sitting in the driver’s seat, she said: “Yeah, I know I’m drunk.”
Her speech was slurred, her eyes bloodshot and she stumbled as she was being taken to a caged police vehicle.
A later breath analysis gave a blood alcohol reading of 0.145.
Oats, 26, of Lawrence Street, was also caught by police driving while disqualified on March 12 last year.
