Lloyd suffered another cruel twist of fate at training on Thursday night and could be sidelined for successive seasons after his troublesome left knee gave way again.
He is booked in for scans this morning.
Lloyd, 23, wasn’t holding his breath when contacted yesterday.
It’s almost a year to the day since he suffered the injury for the first time.
“It’s not great,” he said.
“It didn’t feel as bad as last time but the noises weren’t great.
“Hopefully it’s only a medial or something but we’ll see.”
The loss of Lloyd would be a devastating blow for the Hoppers, with the return of the talented key position player one of few positives for the club following a tumultuous summer.
A host of senior players have left the embattled club, with Lloyd set to play a crucial role up forward for North Albury following the departures of key targets Kane Godde (Thurgoona) and Adam Prior (Lavington).
Lloyd made a fast recovery from surgery last year, playing a handful of senior games late in the season, but the Hoppers would be unlikely to take any risks this time.
