Barrister Sally Wilson made the application for Dylan Crichton, 23, during a brief mention of the matter in Wodonga Magistrates Court yesterday.
Crichton was about to be brought over from the Wodonga police station cells when Ms Wilson told magistrate John O’Callaghan it would not be necessary.
Ms Wilson said there would be no bail application and that instead she would be asking for the matter to be adjourned to a committal mention early next month.
But she said there was a custody management issue for Crichton that needed to be addressed, specifically his continued access to OxyContin for lower back pain.
Mr O’Callaghan agreed to the request and further remanded Crichton in custody to appear again in Wodonga on March 3.
Crichton was arrested following a car chase in central Wodonga on Sunday that resulted in him being charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving in a manner dangerous and evading police.
