The youth, 13, appeared for sentencing in Albury Children’s Court on a series of charges including malicious damage by fire, six counts of aggravated break and enter, theft, malicious damage and entering inclosed lands.
Others involved in the offences have been sentenced and received suspended control orders.
The youth accompanied two other offenders, including his brother, to McDonalds about 5.50pm on May 13 last year.
They went inside the men’s toilet and set toilet paper alight before running out.
A customer saw smoke coming from under the door and alerted staff members who doused the fire.
Police found two deodorant cans believed to have been used as accelerant for the fire.
The offenders were identified from closed circuit footage.
The youth accompanied three others when they broke into a house in the Glenroy area on October 30.
They smashed windows and put holes in the plasterboard before breaking into the North Albury Sports Club.
Bottles of spirits were stolen and the youths escaped when an alarm went off.
They returned to the house and caused further damage with a total of 13 windows broken and 27 holes smashed into walls.
The crime spree involved stealing cigarettes and flavoured milk from a takeaway in Glenroy and cigarette lighters from a service station.
Alcohol was stolen from the IGA supermarket at Springdale Heights and there was damage done to doors, that was estimated to cost between $800 and $1000 to repair.
Solicitor Dione Garwell said it is the first time the youth had appeared at court as a defendant.
She said he was the youngest of the group.
Ms Garwell said the group had consumed alcohol before most of the crimes were committed.
