The Brian Cox-trained gelding is one of five starters for the stable on the seven-race card from 1.25pm.
Bay of Biscay resumed from a long spell to win running away at Albury over 1175 metres almost three weeks ago and the form from that race was franked in recent weeks with two horses that finished behind the winner saluting at their next start.
But today the four-year-old will come back to the 1100 metres and face stiff competition in the Peter Moody-trained Bel Seal.
Cox said the Hemingway four-year-old had improved from the first-up win — he had “gone along nicely” from that win.
“He’s drawn well and continued to improve,” he said.
“There is a big difference between racing at Albury and Wodonga but, certainly, the form coming out of that race appears to be pretty good.”
Cox will also saddle up the consistent three-year-old filly , Pink Jubilee in the second race on the card.
The filly has been unplaced only once in five starts but takes the step up to 1100 metres in a bid to break into the winner’s list.
“I don’t think I’ve got a stand- out chance,” Cox said,
“They are all fit and Pink Jubilee has been racing well without luck.
“Front Pew will also back up from Albury earlier in the week where she had no luck.
“If you had to travel, you probably wouldn’t do it but she pulled well and we’ll see how the mare handles the step up to 1400 metres.”
Cox also has a strong hand in the last with Ruthless Lover and Shibby.
Ruthless Lover, to be ridden by Linda Meech, has drawn the inside after winning last start at Tatura, while Shibby is being prepared for the Albury Gold Cup carnival.
“We don’t know a lot about Ruthless Lover — its his first run for us,” Cox said.
“But Shibby will get back but will be coming home at the right end of the race.”
Shibby put together three wins in a row late last year before failing at Moonee Valley and then as the favourite at Seymour before a spell.
