The boy, 15, and an accomplice, 13, allegedly had a knife when they demanded cash and cigarettes on Saturday night at The Newmarket Store.
They allegedly stole cigarettes about 6pm and the older boy was captured a couple of hours later.
Earlier in the day it is alleged he was involved in an incident where a woman, 72, had her bag snatched at the Harvey Norman Centre.
He has been charged with armed robbery, two counts of receiving stolen goods and breaching bail.
The boy appeared through a video link from Wagga to an out-of-sessions Children’s Court sittings in Sydney on Sunday and was refused bail.
He was remanded to appear by video link in Dubbo Children’s Court yesterday.
The boy, who has breached a suspended control order, had charges adjourned to Albury Children’s Court on March 18 and remains in custody.
Police are still looking for the younger boy.
