The total raised from last month’s Lake Hume Cycle Challenge was donated yesterday.
It’s a huge jump in previous funds raised by the Rotary Club of Bellbridge Lake Hume, which organised the event.
In 2012 it raised $7000 and last year $11,000.
More than 440 cyclists took part in the event, with one route from the wall of the Hume Dam to central Albury.
Their involvement raised $18,000 in total, with the Rotary Club putting in $2000 of their own funds to round up the figure.
The $65 million cancer centre is due to open late next year.
It will have new treatment facilities as well as a dedicated wellness centre for patients.
