Scots, Trinity, Albury High, Xavier and St Paul’s Walla will all be competing in a rugby 7s competition across three divisions.
Steamers development officer Gerard Hynes said it was the biggest turnout in the event’s history.
“We hope, in time, that all schools in the region and beyond will participate in the day as we see that giving our young people greater exposure to different sporting experiences can only be a winner for all involved,” he said.
“Jack Burey, the development officer from the Brumbies, has been a big part of making the event happen.
“He has provided training for most of the teams and has managed the logistics involved in the refereeing and the draw.
“Rugby 7s is now an official Olympic sport and rugby union is generally considered the most inclusive of all the football codes played in Australia, offering a position for all shapes and sizes.”
The Steamers Cup tournament will be held at the Scots School Albury from 9am Friday.
