Wanderers will meet recently promoted State League 2 side Heatherton FC at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Centre in Springvale.
The home side goes into the round 3 clash after a 3-0 win over White Star Dandenong, and Twin City off the back of a 9-0 spanking of state league 3 outfit Watsonia.
Wanderers coach David Afonso said they would have a full squad at their disposal.
“Everyone has pulled up well after the game against Albury City at the weekend and we expect everyone to be available,” he said.
“We don’t know too much about Heatherton.
“We know they have been promoted this year so they’re on the way up, and we figure they won’t be making the same mistake Watsonia made when they came to the Border to play us a couple of weeks ago.
“They thought their second side could take care of a team from the country.
“What they didn’t realise was that the Border has a host of quality sides more than capable of mixing it with the metropolitan teams.”
Afonso said they hoped to lead the way for other Border teams to be part of the competition.
“Performing well in the Dockerty Cup is good for Border soccer — people in Melbourne get a feel for the quality of football that is being produced up here week-in and week-out,” he said.
A win tonight would give Twin City a home game in the next round and the chance to make it into the final 16.
Afonso said his team would use the same system as it did against Albury City last weekend.
“Because we were comfortably in front we were able to rest some players for the midweek clash,” he said.
“Most of the new players stood up on Sunday and some with little or no time with the squad.
“One of the English lads, James Coutts, hadn’t even trained with the team.
“He will move to Wodonga only this week.”
Afonso said Coutts was probably one of the standouts in the midfield.
