It had more than 100 men’s members, dominated district championships and won a string of pennant titles.

Sadly its demise came about 10 years ago when the club paid for 68 members to transfer to Albury and the course was closed.

The last Hume president, Les Waldron, recently met some other former members and they decided on a reunion.

It started off with four of them planning a round of golf at Albury and reminiscing about old times.

But it has grown to more than 50 taking part tomorrow, with some travelling from afar.

Ron Hulm is coming from near Coffs Harbour to play.

“Ronny is a good bloke, but there are only two things wrong with him — he barracks for Collingwood and overrates his golfing ability,” Waldron said.

Many years ago Hulm’s brother, Graham, won the world left-hander’s championship.

Hume had a string of pennant successes with a vast array of talent to call on.

Some of those integral in the successes were Bill Collins, Greg “Shark” McMillan, Graham Cassidy, the late Cameron “Rambo” Thompson, Peter McMillan, Peter Knight, Roger McLean, Greg O’Brien, Mark Pennant, Fred Ford and the late Peter Graham.

Hume won four successive pennant crowns in the late 1980s and early 90s.

John Rogers was the professional at Hume when it started its pennant dominance but later he moved to Corowa.
