Without a host of key names, the Roos smashed the Riverina league team from pillar to post at John Foord Oval.
Coach Bryce Campbell, Jamie Seymour, Kade Kuschert, Mick Mattingly and promising youngster Joe Hansen were just a handful of players to miss the clash, with star forward Luke Gestier leaving the ground about 15 minutes into the contest with hamstring tightness.
Campbell said all would be right to play Wangaratta in a fortnight.
“If it was a proper game, Luke would have stayed out there,” he said.
“We’ll have a full list to pick from in round one, which is pleasing.”
Damien Wilson, Bill Hansen, Hayden Singe, Jarred Lane and Cade Mills all had their moments in Saturday’s convincing victory.
Campbell, who had been battling hamstring problems, now looks a certain starter for the Roos.
