The little Australian terrier-Maltese cross had her first big public outing yesterday with her owners at Wodonga’s annual Paws in the Park.
Despite hundreds of larger dogs — many significantly so — Sasha took it all in her tiny stride.
“She was really good, and she got a lot of attention,” owner, Wodonga’s Leona Dolder said.
“Sasha is from a litter of three and the other two died, but she’s come along really well.”
Brilliant sunshine and a mild day made for another popular Paws in the Park at Willow Park, where prizes were handed out in categories such as the cutest small dog, the best dog trick and best big dog.
The event also featured dog registrations and renewals, obedience demonstrations, discounted micro-chipping and dog washing, a dog jumping and obstacle course and a range of pet-related stalls.
Lavington’s Emily Riley brought along her 10-week-old Jack Russell pup Charlie.
“This was my first year — we only got him two weeks ago,” she said.
“We thought we’d get him used to being around puppies.
“He went really well.
“He happily walked around barking at other dogs.”
