The Savoys put four goals in the back of the net in the first half before coach Nathan Mirt experimented with a group of teenagers he says are the future of the club.
“In the end we had four under-18s and two 18-year-olds out there and all did a pretty good job,” he said.
“This group is a work in progress, so it’s important that we take any opportunity we can to get them on the pitch.
“We certainly created more than our fair share of chances in the second half, peppered the goals but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
“But we spoke during the week about keeping a clean sheet, so to do that and still create chance after chance is a good result.”
English imports George Taylor (2), Lewis Holloway and Mirt all scored for the Savoys.
Mirt said he expected a tougher test next week away to Albury City.
“I have the greatest respect for Simon Randall coached sides — they are always well-drilled and disciplined,” he said.
“We realise we need to keep winning ahead of some pretty tough games in the next month.”
