Four hurt after ‘smoke’ crash

A MAN was flown to hospital after smoke from a burnoff caused a five-car crash in the Lake Rowan locality on the Benalla to Yarrawonga road yesterday.

Two vehicles collided about five kilometres from Willis Road just before 3pm, police said.

Another three vehicles then collided with the two cars due to poor visibility.

A female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two other women sustained minor injuries.

State Emergency Service volunteers rescued the women from the cars.
