After rarely being off target all day, Shields sprayed a shot from 30 metres in the dying minutes and had to be content with nine as Trent Turner, Jack Andrew, Chris Lewis and Jason Bartel peppered him with scoring opportunities.
“Jye was good, but everyone is playing their role at the minute,” coach Ryan Richardson said.
“I think the boys enjoyed playing on the big ground at Chiltern.
“I thought we controlled play fairly well after the first 10 minutes.”
Chiltern coach Kirk Wilson tried to lift his charges while Dane O’Neill and Ethan Boxall also fought the match out for the Swans.
Mark Doolan started at full-forward before spending time in the midfield and chipped in with three goals.
Jye was very good, but everyone is playing their role at the minute. I think the boys enjoyed playing on the big ground at Chiltern.
