It was the first time the Albury young gun had stood on the podium in the series.
Chahda, in Jason Bright’s former Falcon, was spun off the track early in the first race on Saturday, but he was able to rejoin the field to finish ninth, while his two third placings in races two and three on Sunday were enough to see him move to third outright on the pointscore ladder while retaining top spot in his division.
Series leader Ryan Simpson extended his winning streak to five straight rounds after claiming a pair of race wins.
Driving Craig Lowndes’ former Falcon, the Sydneysider extended his points margin over rookie Justin Ruggier to 40 points.
Ryan leads the series with 286 points, 40 points clear of Ruggier on 246, who in turn leads Chahda by 75 points.
The next round of the Kumho Tyres V8 Supercar Series will be held at Queensland Raceway on August 8 to 10.
