The report shows the region, which takes in cities and towns stretching west along the length of the Murray from Albury-Wodonga, shows there was $19.9 billion in gross product generated in 2012-13, up $1.7 billion on the previous year.
Agriculture, healthcare and manufacturing are highlighted as key growth drivers for the region, with Murray Now drawing attention to the approval of $348 million in non-residential building during the period under assessment.
Murray Now chairwoman Barbara Hull says a whole-of-region approach offered the best way to attract investment from those seeking information that would influence them in relocating their businesses.
That kind of information includes population growth, availability of suitable land, transport links and educational opportunities.
There is no doubt having major companies such as Visy and Mars Petcare in the region generates confidence among investors looking for worthwhile options to settling in metropolitan cities where it can be more difficult to find space and flexible options for freight movement.
