West Wodonga residents awoke on Wednesday to find six cars with broken windows on Hogan Court, Brassie Street, Mashie Way, Hawk Place and Niblick Street.
Thieves targeted small items from the vehicles and left with small amounts of cash.
Two vehicles also had their tyres slashed at Falcon Circuit and Azure Drive last Friday.
All the incidents occurred near the golf course and Felltimber Creek Road.
Detective Acting Sgt Ian Deverell said people in the community would be talking about the break-ins.
Police have already charged the 15-year-old with one count of theft from a motor vehicle and are confident of making more arrests.
“People know who they are,” the officer said.
“There will be people out there talking about it.
“So if anyone knows of anyone talking about it, or boasting about it, let us know.”
Detective Acting Sgt Deverell said a range of cars had been damaged.
“The damage is worth more than what the offenders got,” he said.
“It’s also inconvenient for the victims.”
Meanwhile, police are seeking two men captured on security vision near a Wodonga business.
Officers want to speak to the men over several burglaries which have targeted businesses.
The footage was captured on Thomas Mitchell Drive on the night of June 19.
It shows the men wearing baseball caps, tracksuit pants and one has a hoodie.
