Girl burnt on arms, face after petrol explosion

A girl, 15, has received burns to her arms and face after a petrol explosion yesterday.

The girl was burnt at a Murray River Road property at Mount Alfred Road on the Murray River about 2.40pm.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mulllen said the girl had been attempting to light a fire and fuel had leaked out of a can.

“It has blown back on her and ignited her,” he said.

“She’s ended up with some superficial burns to her face and also some burns to her arm.

“She was treated at the scene and given pain relief.”

Mr Mullen said the girl had been taken to Albury hospital.
