After last weekend’s emphatic win over Oakleigh, the Bushrangers will be out for revenge against a Maccabi side that proved too good the first time the teams met.
However, this is a vastly different Bushrangers squad that now has the self-belief that they can beat any side.
The Bushrangers’ defensive intensity has lifted over the past month, which has allowed the side’s young and energetic line-up to get out and run in the open court.
Leading the way for the Bushrangers has been Jon Lindhe, who has lifted his output to 19 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Dylan Webb has been a pillar inside for the Bushrangers.
Although he has battled some foul trouble, Webb has still been able to be effective at both ends of the court.
Lloyd Wright, Darcy Locke and Trent McMullen have all thrived on the Bushrangers aggressive style of play as they have been able to get out into the open lanes and exploit their boundless athleticism.
The Bushrangers will need to keep an eye on Maccabi’s team leader Benji Tamir, who has had a stand-out year, averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Robert Tye, Lindhe and McMullen shape as keys in defence.
The match starts at 1pm, with the Lady Bushrangers having the bye.
