Police received reports about a wayward car on the Hume Highway before the driver was intercepted on the northbound lanes about 7.15am.
They spoke to the 23-year-old Sunshine West man before arresting him and searching his car, where quantities of the two drugs were found.
The man was taken to Benalla police station and was interviewed for driving while disqualified, possessing drug of dependence and trafficking drug of dependence.
He is still assisting police, but no charges had been laid yesterday.
Meanwhile, a black 2003 Kia Carnival was destroyed by fire on Bonegilla Road, Wodonga, early yesterday.
Police said the car was stolen on Saturday night from Atkins Street, Albury and discovered on fire at 1.15am.
CFA attended the scene and put out the flames.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
On Saturday morning three people were travelling in a car which struck a tree five kilometres east of Culcairn on the Culcairn-Holbrook Road.
Paramedics were called out about 9.30am, with a female aged about 40 suffering a large head laceration.
She was taken to Alb-ury hospital for treatment.
A male, also aged about 40, sustained a leg injury and another occupant had minor injuries, but didn’t go to hospital.
