It’s been a meeting place, a site of celebration and a place of many memories, according to hall secretary Marion Vile.
The town will celebrate the centenary of the building on August 16, with 80 to 100 people tipped to attend.
“It’s a special place,” Mrs Vile said.
“Dancing was one of the main things to do since the 1930s and 40s.
“There are some great stories from the older people in town who remember going as children and sleeping in their cars or at the back of the hall.
“There are many memories.”
The event, which starts at 4.30pm, will feature guest speakers, a memorabilia display and a sit-down meal.
Trees will be planted as part of the celebrations and several musicians will also perform.
The hall was known as the Burrumbuttock School of Arts when it opened in August 1914.
A ball was held to celebrate its opening after it cost 400 pounds to build.
